Acne Scar Treatment
Acne scars can affect skin texture and tone long after breakouts have healed. At Charming Skin & Vein Clinics, we offer resurfacing and collagen-stimulating treatments tailored to your scar type and skin.
Acne scar treatment options
The first step in treating acne scars is controlling the acne that causes them. Once breakouts are under control, several options can help reduce the appearance of scarring. Results vary depending on scar severity and the method chosen, and improvement is often gradual.
- Chemical peels gently remove damaged outer layers of skin, exfoliating the surface to soften the look of fine lines, sun damage, and acne scars and reveal smoother skin underneath.
- Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive treatment that exfoliates the topmost layer of skin using fine crystals or a diamond-tipped wand, helping to refine texture with little to no downtime.
- Laser therapy targets the skin to stimulate collagen production, a non-invasive approach that can reduce the appearance of scars and improve overall texture.
- Microneedling creates tiny, controlled micro-injuries that trigger the skin’s natural healing response and encourage collagen and elastin production; it is often combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP).
- Dermal fillers can, in some cases, add volume beneath depressed scars to make them less noticeable.
- Supportive skincare products can help maintain and prolong results between and after treatments.
What to expect
Depending on whether scars are rolling, boxcar, or pigmented, your plan may combine resurfacing and light-based treatments. Improvement is typically gradual and may take more than one session. We set realistic expectations during your consultation and tailor the plan to your skin.
